New amp day for me!

I was shopping for the thing my daughter really wanted for Christmas, quality earbuds. I found them for a good deal at Sweatwater. Bose QuietComfort Ultras. Some how between finding those and checking out, this fell in my cart. Guess I will have to see what it can do and whether I should keep it ..PXL_20231130_223102647.thumb.jpg.e2bf5839ba0a98da4d0aa4d1f09c3450.jpg

I have spent the last 2 hours running it through the paces. 4 different guitars with different pickups in them, running it in mono, running it in stereo, running my Supro (clean settings) in stereo with the R32 (dirty settings). This thing sounds amazing! So many great sounds come from it. It really shines with Wolfetone Marshallheads. It's definitely a keeper!

Congrats on NAD. I've always liked the bigger Orange amps, gotta wonder what these smaller ones sound like. Record a clip or two and post them.

I don't have a good way to record anything. All I can do is a video on my cell phone. There are some pretty good demos available on YouTube. I used to have an AD30 with a 2x12 cabinet, which was just ridiculous for me in my basement. I sold that a year or two ago to a kid who was in a band and playing out live. I probably gave him a better deal than I should have, but I have a soft spot for kids who are starting out. I have always wanted another Orange, and this seems to be a bit more tame for my little practice room.

Man, nice!  I can identify with your choices.  Love the Supros!  Used a 1624T Dual-Tone for a time in my last band.  Loved it!  Took pedals like a champ.  Great tone.  Recorded really well.  And had a chance to abuse an Orange AD 30 in the studio a few times.  Fab noisemakers, all!

I have NOS '60s glass on the way for it, now. I already have a set of 12ax7s with long gray plates and halo getters. I found a pair of 1965 12at7wa military grade preamps and a set of old school 6p14p power tubes. I ran a set of those in my AD30 and really liked the results.
