I don't have massive long fingers.   A thinner neck works well for me.   But it's not just the size or thickness but the shape.   It's one reason that I don't even look at PRS guitars.   The neck shape, especially the SE versions are actually painful, especially for my thumb.    My Vint 54 Strat has a beefy neck, but it's rounded which helps.

I can't see any reason to have one. There is nothing it offers that I see as an improvement. Thin neck, weight relief, modern wiring, and coil splitting? Meh. And if they are the same pickups that come in the Custom Cores, I am ambivalent about them. They didn't really impress me.

I bought one and the neck is not that thin. It feels about the same as my PRS wide fat neck.

I think those PRS wide fat necks are perfectly fine

I can only speak about the one I bought. It might be an outlier. This is the Sweetwater pic before I bought it. My biggest complaint are the frets. they are wide and too short. I had it refretted with Jumbo SS.

What is to wonder about? I bought it new as a standard II from Sweetwater in January, and here is a picture of the headstock. It is clearly not a custom core or the old standard with the decal logo.
