The difference between 150, 157, 150 Classic, 150 Ultra

Welcome......Heritage basically followed the Gibson Les Paul design concept with the H-150 models.      H150cm / classic = Les Paul Standard, H157 = Les Paul Custom, etc    I believe the H 150 Ultra is coined due to the high grade of maple used on the top side of the guitar.  Overall, they're good instruments, and still made the old fashioned way.....by hand!

H-157 has a better top with HRW pups and white binding. It's a sweet one,

I have one on order.

Just out of curiosity, what is meant by 'better top"? Are you referring to the extra binding and block inlays? or is there something more to the actually maple top- thicker? more highly carved? Higher grade finishes? Please elaborate.

I think they mean that the maple top is more highly figured.

The H-150 CM-CL and H-150 deluxe have Duncan '59s as standard pickups.

The H-150 CM has Schallers, as did H-150 Special when they were made.

By the way, you can discern the difference in pickups in pictures, say on ebay pictures.  Look at the screws on either side of the pickup cover--if there is only one screw on each side then the guitar is equipped with the SD59's.  If there are TWO screws on either side of the pickup cover, then likely they are Schaller pickups (as on the H 150 CM).

Note: the HRW's have TWO screws on either side of the cover too--Heritage uses a white dot on the pickup selector switch for guitars with the HRWs.

Maybe the maple tops on the Ultras have syrup in them...  :P

;D

But seriously, if you are searching for the different types of Heritage solid body guitars, just check out Jay Wolfe's site.  There's enough Heritage eye candy to give you cavities!  Give them a call.
