brentrocks
Well, i have to admit i am a little on the "impulse" side of life when it comes to guitars. But i really out did myself this time. When i closed the deal on my '86 170, i had actually pulled the trigger on a 1998 H 170 CMSD. I thought, well I'll just offer it to one of the forum members, I'm sure somebody would like to have it...i got a good deal on it and i would be able to pass that good deal along to someone else. Actually one member had dibs...i had shared my story w/ him and he had expressed intrest. Anyway, it came today...and i didnt want to sell it!!!! It is so friggin awesome...the SD upgrade w/ the push/pulls is such a great setup!!! those are great pickups!!! the tone possabilities are endless!!! The neck feels wonderful. There is a little bit of binding seperation in the cutaways, but its not the end of the world. no fret wear at all!! I guess it is a good thing that 555 deal fell through yesterday...i would be in a real pickle!!! So now I'm sitting here...and there is the '86 140, '88 STAT, '86 170 and the '98 170...and I'm thinking....that is a f***** great set of Heritages right there!!! So i think i must keep it. I need some psychiatric help....I'm Heritage crazy!!!! http://s3.photobucket.com/albums/y52/ebmmquilt/170%20SDCM/P1010013.jpg[/img] http://s3.photobucket.com/albums/y52/ebmmquilt/170%20SDCM/P1010016.jpg[/img] http://s3.photobucket.com/albums/y52/ebmmquilt/170%20SDCM/P1010010.jpg[/img] http://s3.photobucket.com/albums/y52/ebmmquilt/170%20SDCM/p1010017.jpg[/img] http://s3.photobucket.com/albums/y52/ebmmquilt/170%20SDCM/p1010011.jpg[/img]
High Flying Bird
That's a purty one too. You need to set them all up and do a family photo.

Gitfiddler
Brent, those photos of the two H-170's together looks sorta like a wedding pose! Or maybe it's a Honeymoon shot! :-* Oh my!! You'd better separate those two, or you might end up with yet another little guitar. You could name the offspring 'H-85'. Great score.........AGAIN! Jorgen-Denmark
Nice setup, and thinking of your dedication to Heritage, there should be plenty room for more :-) - you haven't got any hollowbody in your line up. By the way, nice to see both of the two 170's in good shape.

Dick Seacup
I think we need a tone report on the differences between the StagMag and Schaller pups.
brentrocks
I think we need a tone report on the differences between the StagMag and Schaller pups. Believe it or not, the Shallers actually seem a little hotter. The thing i like is the twang you get with the push/pulls on the 89....and then roll the tone down, oh baby...its like bluesy/rock heaven. The SDs are definately cooler...the 86 is a lot warmer...i'm not a coneseur on tone, but these guitar definately make me smile. OK Brent...intervention time...you have an addiction! Now please step away from the "Add to Cart" button! LMAO!!
jacques
Does your mother know all this, Brenty? Like I mentioned elsewhere: don't pull out the Schallers too soon! And since you have different guitars anyway, you can use them in different settings with different purposes. Can you record something and post it? I wish i could record....really the only thing i can do is make a video w/ my camcorder and post it on youtube, but the sound quality from cam to computer is horrible!!!
