Well someone scored that one!

It is GONE from the GC website.

Fess up.  Who has it?  Please check in!  ???

OK, I'm checking in now.... ;D

Yeah, i had to get it  >:D the devil made me do it  ;)

I was able to get GC in Jersey down to a very reasonable price, and I'm glad i did.

This is everything a good 170 should be and more.  First off, the sunset burst is just incredible...had never seen one in person before.  The neck is great, slim and not too wide. It is a 3 piece maple neck, which is different for the 170, must have been cutom ordered.  It is lighter than my '86 170, which is a plus.  The pups are hotter than H***, and they are on a 3-way switch, i thought it was a 5-way.  Lots of tone possabilities w/ the 3rd pup...sounds great distorted and clean.  I love the ebony board, it is not as weird as i thought it would be without the markers...i think it looks pretty cool.  No fret wear, but a few battle scars, nothing terrible for a 18 yr old guitar.  Got lucky that it came w/ the orig Heritage case.  I like their cases.  The neck joint was sculpted in a different kind of way...must have been a special request...but it is nice to access the higher frets.  The switch didnt have a cap when i got it, but it is too big for a standard strat cap...i'm gonna try a tele cap and see if it will fit?

Well, i guess some pics are in order.... ;D

Nice grab, Brent!  Are you specializing in H170s? ;)

Thanks guys

Richard, i really just like them a lot...i dont know why.  I guess it is the light weight, the design, the necks.  It's just a kiler guitar (170 and 140)

Brent ... great score!!! Hope you haul one of those to the shindig in July. Would dearly love to lay hands on one. I've always like double cut-aways. Not a fan of the 3-HB, but I imagine one could get used to them. No fret markers?  :o  I'd have to get some of those stick-on MoP markers or I'd go nuts trying move from the lower register to above the 12th. H*ll!!, I can barely make it there WITH markers.

Congratulations again, Brent

Know I know why you sold me the other H170 - and thank you for that....

I agree on your view on th H140-H170 (Uh, excited to hear about the weight on the GM-sign H150 - but it was sooo beautiful to look at - saw the pict's on Harmony Central)

I like the design and accessibility of the Millennium DC and my other double-cuts (Hamers).  The 170 design looks like it'd be similarly comfortable.  Maybe I'll have to move the H160V and pick up an H170.  My wife would love that. :-

Thanks dude!

i will bring all my Heritages to the party!  (what ever i have at the time ;D)  and you are more than welcome to play them!  The 3rd pup was a little different...i had to lower the middle pup because i has hitting my pick on it all the time.  When you are as ameture of a player as me, even the markers dont help ;D

I have a feeling i will hang on to this one just because of its rareity and its weight...but never say never!!!

Brent, a report on the out of phase tone will be due ASAP !!

you are gonna have to help me out on the "out of phase" thing.  is that why one of the tone pots are backwards?  (1=high tone, 10=low tone)  i dont understand all the electronic stuff? :-

That would be the pickup selector in the 2 and 4 position using the neck and middle p/u or the middle and bridge pickup together.

it only has a 3-way...i wish it was 5-way
