  1. Past hour
  2. Wow, that is pretty cool! The only thing I don’t like about that bridge configuration is that it is kind of a pain in the butt with String changes.
  3. I thought about having the whole body stripped and go back to an original tobacco burst finish, but that would probably cost me $1000, and I don’t wanna put that kind of money into the Guitar right now. Plus, I would love to have another Heritage that matches the Silverburst finish on my custom core 157.
  4. Yes he does. He’s done lots of work for me over the years
  5. I think I'd have this in his hands right away. The rattle can black really wrecks the vibe for me. A nice gloss black would be attractive, but I've always been a fan of finishes that highlight the wood. I'd be hoping the black is laying on top of the original finish so it didn't seep into the pores of the wood.

  7. It wouldn't matter what Heritage put in the guitars, SOMEBODY would complain and change them. I've seen HRWs panned, and then see them sell for $350 a set, and 225s were listed for the same, when you can get Seth Lovers for $200 a set.
  8. Great tune. I'll gladly join in for it at PSP next year.
  9. I was making sly reference to the Doobies tune
  10. I herd it's got some pretty good pickups in thar!
  11. Lollar Imperials are great pickups, I have them in an H150 These 2 threads ramind me of a Doobie Bros tune. I didn't know it was a cover version, or that there were a bunch of versions: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jesus_Is_Just_Alright
  12. That guy knows his **** I was talking to him at a PSP
  13. It used to be that I couldn't stand weight relieved guitars like these but in recent years my back has persuaded me to reconsider that opinion. I like the 3rd generation of weight relief that Gibson came up with because it kept a desirable tone and distributed the body weight evenly so that the guitar didn't feel fake and lopsided when you picked it up. I wouldn't mind taking one of these on a test drive but my local Heritage dealers all vanished.
  14. this website's unwieldy edit property wrecked my efforts to polish the preceding post . . . The short of it is that Heritage works with Sweetwater for the "Exclusive" releases. Heritage goodness with some one-off variety. My new one has Seth Lovers which was a key consideration in pulling the trigger. H's 225 humbuckers don't garner universal praise and I don't want to gamble with tone since tried-and-true pickup choices are out there. Quick aside, my Sweetwater Exclusive H-150 from earlier in the fall has Lollar Imperials and they're the cat's meow. Good job, H and SW!
  15. This bad boy joined the herd over the weekend . . . I'm not normally one for factory aging but the one in this thread
  16. Yesterday
  17. So…. After getting this baby setup for 9s, and getting it all dialed in, I have come to the conclusion that…. This H525 is friggin awesome!!! Holds tune like a champ!! The 2 Lollar p90s sound absolutely amazing!!! I’ve never had a Faber bridge on a guitar before. I really like it. It’s a locking bridge. The neck is a very comfortable medium C carve. Sets up with a medium/low action. Frets show minor wear. The guitar is nice and light. It has a slight bit of neck dive, but it’s hardly noticeable. Overall, a very nice playing Heritage guitar with great tone!!!!
  18. Thanks Scott!! My go to guy is Dave Teski. One of the finish guys at Heritage
  19. I've played a few of the H150's with the weight relief and I think Heritage got a good balance of weight distribution that some of the earlier weight-relieved Les Pauls from Gibson didn't. I have a 1998 H150, that once I changed some of the hardware on, tips the scale at about 8lbs and 14oz, definitely one of the lighter ones. Unlike most H150's of the era, it had from the factory, a standard Nashville bridge and a heavy zinc tailpiece, and was just over the 9lb mark. Swapped the Grovers out (super heavy they are) and put a Faber aluminum tailpiece and ABR1 on it. That knocked a lot of ounces off. That guitar always had a ton of acoustic resonance. Which is was why I bought used so many years ago. Just a few years ago, I got a Gibson custom shop 1960 Les Paul reissue (60th anniversary model). That one is solid, one-piece mahogany body, and total weight is 8lbs and 1oz. It is a joy to play, light and resonant.
  20. If you check mine, it doesn't have a fixed bridge!
  21. https://youtu.be/3Y1BBMVfTXo?si=Ri50Y29PJOlpsOLR I had one long ago. I bought it new. The dealer did not know about the LW treatment. I should have kept it. Back then there was a bias against it, saying it steals tone and sustain. Gibson got bad press about the Swiss cheese butchery. In theory some of that may be true. Yet I have great sounding small and medium sized semi-hollows. The LW H-150 did not have neck diving, was about 7 lbs, and sounded excellent. I'm glad Heritage is promoting such an instrument.
  22. Great find Brent! Who do you use now for finish work?
  23. I’m thinking about having a Silverburst finish shot on just the top and then leaving the back and the rim satin black. To match my 157 custom core.
  24. That's a beauty! I rather like the satin look, gives it a rather vintage vibe. Congrats!
  25. And the center block with which they attach the fixed bridge.
  26. There's nothing inside except air!
