  1. I have both Gibson & Heritage guitars that do the very same thing. My Custom Core H-150 is the worst offender. I don’t notice it as much with my H-535 though. Static electricity, especially during the dry winter season does intensify the condition. Also the wiring in your playing area can contribute to it as well. My music room has fluorescent lighting, so that definitely contributes in my case.
  2. I also agree that the pickups are the weak link in these guitars.
  3. I too don’t necessarily subscribe to the notion that lighter guitars sound “better”. But I can say that my neck & shoulder appreciate the fact that mine is 8.6 lbs. I have seen a few of the more recent ones weigh in at a little over 9lbs.
  4. I really can’t say with any certainty that my CC sounds better than any of the Standard models I’ve owned over the years. I happen to be (talent wise) on the very low-end of the spectrum of players. I can say that I do really like the feel of the neck shape, and the finish. While mine is not an Artisan Aged model, the standard CC finish is very Gibson VOS-esque. Plus the hue of the Goldtop is much closer to the old Gibson style.
  5. Wow, that’s one sad looking shipping box!
  6. It almost looks as if it’s a Doctors writing. Anyone know of a Doctor around here that is a Heritage aficionado? Moonlighting perhaps? 🤔
  7. Using the provided photos, I see no reason to believe that your guitar is fake. The numerals and label certainly appear to be legitimate.
  8. Pre-2016 you could get almost anything you wanted. And you likely could have had it at a reasonable cost. These days I’m not sure how that would go. Aren’t they supposed to have a “Bespoke program”?
  9. Yup, Heritage pickup cavities were rather shallow until the mid 00s’. They were pretty much always using Schaller pickups in those days which had short mounting legs.
  10. I just threw up in my mouth a little. 🤮
  11. Keeping fingers crossed for a smooth & speedy transition. Wonder if I’ll actually finally achieve “Charter Member” status? 🤣
  12. Definitely some “wonkiness” going on, as I just received a notice of congratulations on my 1 year anniversary! It’s 2008 again!!
  13. Is there a label in the F-hole with any info? FWIW- I would say that yours would have to be (no later) than an 05’. I seem to remember Heritage having supply issues with Schaller in the mid 00s’. Your guitar displays evidence of the Golden 50s’ pickups. Upon further inspection of your pics. It appears that you have one where the pickguard screws into the top, without a metal bracket. That would make it from the earlier production years (at least an 89’). Sure does look like an early 535.
  14. IMO- Not enough there to pony up the extra dough for the CC models.
  15. Despite that demo, I’d be interested in one of these once they begin to trickle down into the used market.
  16. I knew this day was coming! Glad my guitar stable is already full! My wallet is glad too!
  17. For many years the 59’ was about the only/best PAF-ish humbucker on the market. Once the boo-teek market exploded, they kind of got cast aside as they’re not “vintage correct”. I have them in my H535 and I don’t dislike them enough to swap them out. My first Les Paul was a 79’ Custom that I purchased in 91’. I swapped out the microphonic T-Tops for a set of 59s’. That guitar sounded awesome, and everyone else who heard & played it said the same.
  18. I have a set of Brandonwound Pat Sticker Clones that I want to (someday) install in my 535. It’s just such a PITA to swap em’ out! I too find the stock 59’s to be “meh” in a semi-hollow. I don’t mind them in solidbodies though.
