big bob Posted September 13, 2012 Author Share Posted September 13, 2012 But seriously, I've been busting strings left and right lately. I have all my solids and the 555 strung with 9s. I like 9s, slim but still there. However with the addition of the memory man and the borrowed soldano gto I've been having a lot of fun with pick attack and palm muting and harmonics, well, and lots of other high gain stuff. I also know that sometimes I pound the poo out of the strings.. Two strings with in 45 min of each other. Not the same string either. Strange!!! My old 140 schaller tailpiece had a bur that would cut the high E string. A bit of shrink tubing on the string at the tailpiece fixed my problem until I replaced the bridge and tailpiece.
