1988 H 150 Arrives!!!

After my last incident w/ a '88 H 150...I had my doubts!  But this specimen was everything I had hoped.  The top is incredible, and it is in really nice shape for a 20 yr old guitar. The gold hardware is a bit worn, but it gives it that classic look ;D  actually i would prefer chrome...maybe someday i'll swapp it over??

it has '59's and was converted to Nashville hardware.  it also sports a MOP logo, which is a nice touch.  the frets are wide and low, the neck is straight and rosewood board shows some nice grain...don't know if it is Brazilian, prob not.

it just got here, I plugged it in to make sure everything worked ok...it needs strings BAD!!!!  hopefully will be able to get that done tonight.  it had the orig Heritage case too ;D  really nice Vintage (G style cutaway 150) for $900.

I almost had a heart attack though...i saw what i though a crack on the back of the headstock, it was just a nitro check (not in the wood)...WWHHHEEEWW

Good catch Brent.

And that one even looks good thrown in the grass. :P (Do you cut your lawn often so your house looks nice or so your back drop for your guitars is nice & tidy?)

Here's to a keeper.

i hate yardwork!!!  i dont water my yard either (not paying for city water to grow that stuff :P)

i was wiping and polishing on it after playing today and i decided to take off the control plate and there was a sticker there H 150 ACB (round white sticker w/ black print).  i was looking at the serial E30006....since 1988 was the 1st year for the H 150, that one was very early for the H 150s.  March 6th 1988...it was probably one of the 1st 30 or so?  i thought that was kind of cool.

Just wanted to say I looked at it again.  I really like this one.  Very nice.  I like the cut away and the color is vibrant!  I thought I would be good for a while, but the G.A.S. is killing me >:D  I'll just keep looking at your 150's for a while ;D  I have to say your silver burst is also the BOMB!!!!  Later

Now if it had P90's...

that could be cool....if only there was a way to put the wood back

i wonder if there is a spacer plate you could put on to cover the hole and use dog-ears?  THAT would be sweet!!!

  • 2 weeks later...

Brent, still jonesing for chrome hardware?  I've got the original Schaller stoptail and roller bridge with bushings, thumbwheel, and posts that came with my '98 H-150.  I'm looking for some aged nickel G***** (I'm guessing you don't) hardware myself if you want a trade.  If not, pm me if you have any interest in buying.

I've got a couple of pics in my photobucket album.

Thanks,

jco.11

No doubt!  The man expressed a thought, I'm presenting an option.  :)

I'll end up posting these in the general area, but figured I'd offer to Brent first as a thanks to him for his support during my recent transaction/fiasco.
