Hey steiner, where did you get the mud flap girl truss rod cover..

My little friend came from here: http://www.custominlay.com/detail.aspx?ID=500

Custom Inlay was a recommendation from the High Flying Bird. I bought a bunch of them with my initials engraved including MOPs for my Eagles. A word of warning to the newest member of the HFT445 club; the truss rod cover is NOT standard Heritage size.

I'm still having a ball with the maple Strat neck - THANK YOU!

I'd love to see photos of the 120 as soon as you have time to put her down and grab the camera - I suppose I'm just a porn hound...

During the tour, Ren mentioned that they get some of their inlays out of Kentucky. I wonder if this is the guy that does them. That's not a common business.

The case was packed well in the box, and the guitar was packed OK in the case, but the case is way too big for the body, and missing a latch. It's a well made case from the 80's not a new cheep one but will need some work if I plan on using it. The shop I got it from included the warranty card from heritage, no hang tags though.

I take her out and give her the once over, Dang is this plank heavy. I weighed her on the trusty bathroom scale and it said 10 lbs, but I think probably 12 or 13. (it is a solid slab body, a blond wood, I'm thinking ash, alder, something dence, could even be maple) all I know is she is heavy!! Good news the neck is straight with little to no adjustment to the truss rod, just a little back bow, the way I like it. Low but not super low action.

So now the moment of truth, I plug her in, Gasp!! everything works, loud pups in every way. These are super duper hot, Ren warned me they would be. on clean they are ok with the volume knob 1/2 way or lower, deep tone real bassie, not great . I'm playing her through a marshall dsl 401 combo. on crunch the pups scream, think classic CCR or lead zepplin, and they are far louder than my seths, on distortion these pups are metal all the way think, van halen, scorpions, classic 80's super hot schaller. I was going to change them out but I think they will stay.

The neck is sweet, three piece maple, much more amber than in the sellers pictures, the two outside strips have nice horizontal flame/birds eye, the center strip is big grained and runs vertical. Nice combo and little damage couple of scrapes but nothing that wont buff out. It is a chunky neck but not a boat or v shape, nice c shape.

Here is the weird part, the body has a couple of dings through the paint into the wood, but for the most part is just scratched and scuffed every ware, looks like it got dragged over the floor. nothing that wont buff out, but it will be work to get her shinny again. any way back to the weird part the neck and the hardware (sans Knobs) have little to no ware, the frets are perfect, not one pit, I would almost guess refret, but if it was it was a super clean pro job, they look like new(def Heritage) frets and the hardware has little to no scratching or pitting. I'm going to strip her down this weekend and start the buff out.

Hard to believe that little thing could weigh that much. I do bet the sustain is huge!

sustain for days, I'm not positive 13lbs but I know it's not the 10lbs my cheep bathroom scale says. definitely heavier than the stat dlx, and the milli.

It had better be heavier than the Millie! :o Considering the Millie is a semi-solid guitar. And that 120 is a big 'ol honkin' slab a'wood. ^_^
