  1. Past hour
  2. quite famously I think: Ampeg even used this photo in an ad?
  3. This is the first I've read of any band using Ampeg VT22 guitar amps. Great (LOUD & HEAVY) rig! I bought it new around 1970-ish to replace my old Fender Pro (1x15). That VT22 was so heavy, I had to beef up the rear suspension on my Dodge Dart. 🙂🤪
  4. Today
  5. Both the Stones and the Faces in their prime played through Ampeg SVTs on their arena tours. And in the studio Ampeg VT22 and VT40 amps. Ron Wood used to slave a little Fender Princeton in to an Ampeg SVT. What a tone!!!
  6. Growing up in Jersey all we had were Ampeg and Silvertons only our cars had fenders. Can't beat the OG bass amp.
  7. So I wasn’t really happy with the poorly modded Schaller bridge. It wouldn’t intonate very good. So I decided to put a set of locking Tonepros on it. And I took the covers off the pickups (which did help with the squealing, a little). The bridge Lollar still squeals when I step on the RAT…but with the OCD it is fine. The neck Seth is great now. The intonation is perfect now.

  9. Nice one Brent! Gotta love the bound headstock and stinger! Enjoy!
  10. Heritage's answer to the SG History Nice one Sir B
  11. Running a bass through a guitar (6 string) amp is dangerous. It’s especially hard on the speakers. Running a 6 string through a bass amp usually sounds thin but, I’ve been told, Ampegs do a good job. Slaving an amp as you describe above is normally done to hear the preamp of one amp through the power section of another.
  12. 1987 HERITAGE H170… 1st generation H170 double cut. Honduran mahogany body and neck Bound and Carved flame maple top Bound Indian rosewood fretboard Bound and inlaid headstock This one has seen some action in its life. It suffered a headstock break/repair some years ago. It currently has a Lollar Imperial pickup in the bridge and a SD Seth Lover in the neck. Volume/Volume/Tone with a 3 way toggle. It’s a great playing and great sounding Heritage from their Golden Age!!!
  13. Tell your friend she sounds fantastic with a four string bassist . I have not tried to run a six string guitar through it. I’m a little scared…….
  14. That’s exactly what it is Daniel. I also have the BA210 version which is an identical size cab, but 2x10 speakers and higher power output AND an external speaker output jack on the rear. I was told that the 210 version runs at 280 W but when you connect the external cabinet at eight ohms, it puts out 450 W. Also, somebody told me you can connect two amplifiers such as those two together by connecting the FX send with a cable to the FX return on the other amp, which is considered the slave amp. Have you ever heard of doing such a thing?
  15. My pressure. How does she sound? Have you tried a six string through her? Asking for a friend…
  16. Last week
  17. Good score, it looks like the BA115 V2. It's a pretty solid rehearsal room/recording amp! Ampeg makes some nice bass amps. The bass player in my band just bought a new smaller Ampeg bass amp an RB-210. It sounds great, we recorded a few tracks with it, and it was very easy to mix. Another great thing is that it is lightweight (It's 38lbs). He also has a vintage Ampeg Portaflex and it sounds awesome.
  18. What does the headstock repair look like? Did glue squeeze out onto the nut?
  19. I got PTSD doing harness work on Heritage semis. You'd think there would be no significant difference between a Gibson and a 535. There is more swearing involved!
  20. Sounds awesome. But I’d love to see vids of the awesome sound!
  21. 😎
  22. Thanks Greg
  23. Ampeg is still on my radar. I need to find out which model George M. ghost built and get one. Happy NADs ElNumero!
  24. That guitar through a Marshall or a Marshall-esq amp sounds so good. I didn't even realize until a week after the gigs, I had my effects loop turned off. No delay, no reverb. Just wah, compressor, OD pedals.
  25. Yes, thanks again Brent. While I only have a bridge pickup, it sounds great.
  26. Good call.
  27. I’m glad the RED ROCK PICKUPS worked out!!
