For that kind of money you can get a lot more knobs on something like a Mesa Mini RectalFryer ! Â Â KBP does some really unique stuff with his amps. It looks fabulous. For now, I'm going with a 112 cab with a greenback. I'm having it tolexed to match the head, so it will be another couple of weeks on that. HNAD Â 15ish watts 7189 tubes (variant of the EL84 that runs at higher plate voltages. beefed up output transformer volume, treble, bass, master volume. Â The amp is designed to sort of live on the edge of break up. This amp is basically very much a Matchless Lightning, with minor tweaks such as the 7189 tubes and the trannies. Â I asked KBP what amp would work for my requirements to have it not be too clean, but not be a total gain monster, and this circuit is what he came up with. After listening to some clips of the Matchless Lightning, I was sold. It should be very touch sensitive, and expressive. Â I'll be able to provide outstanding quality clips when it arrives. I JUST upgraded my home studio and managed to get great pre amps, so the recordings will be top notch (aside from the playing, of course lol) Â Hope that helps!
