HA....gottcha!!

No i didnt buy a Eagle.  But i did buy a SUPER SWEET 525!!!  Once owned by the imfamous Heritage252 (steve), this Heritage came to me in very pristine condition!

This is the funny part....the dude that bought it from Steve, shipped it to me, but accidently messed up the combo on the lock.  So when i took it out of the box, i couldnt open the case!!! :'(  I called Steve and he gave me the code ;D

After the initial inspection, i saw no UPS damage, so i took it downstairs for a string change and some TLC.  I pulled all the strings off and noticed the fret had a good amount of tarnish on them, so i polished the frets w/ some steel wool and then gave the rosewood a nice coat of lemon oil...that really brought out the grain!

Put on a new set of strings, stretched them out.....and it was time for the 1st ride!!!

I started out in the clean channel....of course we know the quality of the Lollars....it sounded fantastic!  Then i threw some gain at it!!!  It sounded incredible!!!  The feedback was very controled....the tone was bright and tight on the bridge....a little warmer on the neck...good low end and good mids.

The neck carve is just what i like from Heritage...nice and slim at the 1st few frets, the action is really low w/ very little buzz.

So far, i'm very impressed with the 525...i'm glad i took a chance on it

Nice guitar.  Have you checked the intonation ?  The position of the bridge doesn't look right to

me and the saddles are all over the place.

Steve had the guitar setup and the tech put 2 tiny dots at opposite corners of the bridge so that if you bumped it, you would know where place it.  To answer you question, no i didnt check it string-by-string...but chords sound good, so it must be pretty close.

Congrats, Brent!  What a beautiful guitar.  The bridge/saddles look similar (to me) of the pics of 525s at Wolfe or of Kuz's...  but I've never seen one in person, so don't know for sure.  Smile - good thing you're 'in the know' on the history of this guitar to get into the case!

Enjoy it!

You list another 525 in your signature.  Are these That good to own two too?

Nice one, Brent.  Congrats on the score!.  Not a fan of the vintage burst on f-hole guitars, but on that one, as subtle as it is, it looks very right; and Sperzels, too?  Or are they just ivory button Grovers?  And no, I don't think it was fate; I think there's a new strain of GAS:  the mutant, KUZ effect!

Oops...  Never mind. The sunburst appears natural on this monitor.  Despite the optical drawbacks on this end, that's one mighty fine looking guitar!

Smile - ah, the Kuz-strain.  Must be you guys didn't get your shots this year...    :)

Don't see many 525s around - Brent's surely is a looker, tho.  Found this one on the net, another nice looking 525 in maybe OSB?...

WAIT a minute. Brent you dog, totally fooled me on which new-to-you Heritage you were going bought.

CONGRATS and welcome to one of the greatest Heritage models ever.

I due LOVE my 535 p-90 first production guitar, but the p-90s shine like no other in the 525.

I mean the 525 is pure VINTAGE!!!!! Man when I pick up my 525 I think I'm Jimmy Vaughn (well a slightly over weight bald guy with 1/100th of the talent of Jimmy, Jimmy Vaughn).

Please promise me if you ever decide to flip this one that it goes to a loving home - you hitting me kinda close with this hollow body p-90 thing!! :P

I asked because I usually see Tune-o-matic bridges set at a bit of an angle but now I notice

that the Heritages with bail tailpieces have their bridges straight across.

Anyone know why this is ?
