Many years ago, there was a time in which Mr. Tweed himself, KBP810 built numerous Fender models. Many were all over the 5F1 (Champ), 5E3 (Deluxe), and the most popular AA763 (Deluxe Reverb). A few Bassmans and Dumble clones are out there. I had a really cool 40w version of a Princeton, but due to my personal situation last year, I was forced to sell. Looking back, it was highly unnecessary. I could use that amp today. So, I have been looking into a 5E3 amp. Found a kit for $200 (no transformer or tubes) but I think I have ability to make one with minimal investment. I've been pondering it more and more, but still uncertain.

Mine must have been ordered with upgrades or someone upgraded it. It has gold bridge, tuners, switches, etc. When I got it the owner had put alunitone pick ups in it. They really did not sound good and looked even stranger on a traditional looking guitar. I put a pair of Dimarzio Anniversay humbuckers in it and it sounds really warm. I don't use it much and am thinking about selling it. But I am not sure I want to part with it as it is so cool.

I've been looking for a couple other Peavey Transtube variants. Kinda hard to find though. There is a Rage 158, but being in a little 1x8 cabinet, it probably doesn't sound too great. I do wonder if it was put into a larger cab, it might sound better.

The 576 is semihollow, laminate top and back with solid rims. Here's the spec from the '89 catalog. I have the H525 which is thinner, laminate like the 576 but fully hollow and with P90s. It's a bit like a smaller version of the 550 to my thinking. 16" vs 17", 24.75 vs 25.5 scale, both semihollow, so you should have a center block. 2 3/4" thick vs 2 7/8" It's not shown in the 2005 catalog that I have. It was shown in the '93 catalog.

I have a jazz gig on Friday and jazz is not my forte. I can get around but there are no keys ....percussion, bass, violin and me. I pulled out my H-576 and as I had not played it in like 4 years, I forgot what a cool guitar it is. I guess it is like a 575 with a Venetian cutaway and gold tuners, bridge, etc. lots of blingy stuff. it also seems to have a center block. I'm not sure if the 575 is fully hollow or blocked. It really sounds beautiful....warm and full and jazzy. And it is really nice to look at. Anyway, does anyone have any info on these guys? how many were made? mine is an H seriel number which means 1992. I don't know how long they were made. Does anyone else have one or am I alone in the universe with mine?

I've had a few guitars that came with HRWs. Archtops with a single pickup sounded great. The bridge pickup being a HRW was too bright for me. I tried but couldn't come to terms with that. Many had a positive experience though.

My favorite Heritage inlays are the abalone blocks. I haven't seen an example come out of the factory for a very long time. The H-555 inlays are less than subtle. The design came from the same guys who produced the controversial headstock. Both have grown on me. I don't even notice. If I do, it's part of old Heritage's personality, and I smile.

The H-157 3 pickups guitar has H.R.W.s and it is a 2002. The 2 pickups H-157 is a 1999 with the Schaller golden 50s.

There are some quirky things on a real Heritage you might notice. I don't think many here mention it though. After owning and playing dozens of Heritages from 1986 to 2023, I've notice a few things. The binding does not hide the maple cap at the cutaway unlike Gibson has over the years. One curiosity is the dot inlays on the side markers in the neck. One of them above the 12th fret sits slightly off center, making it obvious the same tooling was used for well over 20 years. Headstocks have changed slightly, a little less narrow and the points a bit sharper Necks progressively (and I mean PROGRESSIVELY) got thicker and rounder since 1986. Hardware and pickups have changed. Schaller pickups and hardware until early 2000's, then Seymour Duncan humbuckers and Tone Pros hardware, and now inhouse built pickups and Heritage embossed tuners. Up until 2016 or so, every single Heritage was a custom order. They were a boutique builder before the term was ever coined. Despite all the changes in the past ten years, the company is doing better than ever. Their work is some of the best there is and overall, the history tells a tale of persistence, devotion, and generational craftsmanship that is hard to duplicate these days.

Actually? Peavey led the charge in PA systems hands down. And their amps were no let down either. My Peavey arsenal is Peavey Bandit 112 Peavey Express 112 Peavey Classic 50 212 Peavey TNT 115BW bass amp
