  2. Can't pull up photos of my 6 heritage guitars in my members gallery. Kind of blacked out. Are they lost forever?
  3. Arrived Thursday. Gorgeous and plays beautifully. Played it for a couple of days now. Took it to my luthier to install a Benedetto B-6 (built in version of Benedetto’s S-6 floating pickup). I love this pickup and i think it will suit this guitar beautifully to bring out a little more acoustic voice. Especially since this model has only a neck pickup so it retains a little more of that woody/acoustic vibe. Deserves to be heard that way. Feedback is definitely a bigger issue with the single pickup and all solid woods, but part of the allure of this one was that it came with custom Doug’s Plugs for the F holes. A little less acoustic feeling with those in, but feedback is not an issue. Very excited to get it back from the shop this week.

      They are sold.   Sorry

  6. Looks awesome and sounds great!
  7. Thanks Tim!! I opted to leave the back and rim alone. I was trying to keep the cost of the project down.

  9. Beautiful silver burst!! Did you have the back/sides buffed at all?
  10. Someone is going to be real happy with this refin. Nice job.
  11. Really sorry to read this. R.I.P. and condolences to his family.
  12. Came out great Brent! Love the look of this one!
  13. Wheeewwww!!! Holy crap!! Wiring a holow body guitar SUCKS!!! Lol. I tell ya what though, it was well worth it! What was a half-ass refinish, is now a classy, respectable tone machine. The guitar still has great tone and superb playability, but now it looks beautiful!!! Dave did a wonderful job on refinishing the top…factory quality. Granted, the rest of the body is still the matte black finish, but it actually goes well with the Silverburst. Aside from re installing the electronics, everything went back together super easy. I had to re condition the fretboard (because of taping off the fretboard). Then installed a new set of GHS 9s and she was ready to rock!!!
  14. I got the guitar back from Dave today!! OMG It’s absolutely gorgeous!!! Ok….time to go fishing. Lol
  15. Just spotted these Lollar Gold Foil ….they may be just the ticket. https://www.lollarguitars.com/lollar-gold-foil-pickups/gold-foil-surface-mount
  16. beauty, those schaller's are the same a sd 59s, real good pickups.. they love the a2 magnet swap if you want that fingerpad articulation,,..
  17. Thanks much. I’ve heard good things about them. I have Lollar Imperials in most of my guitars. Terrific design and sound. Just ran across Tom Brantley Rewind pickups….anyone tried one of these? Looks like a specific attempt at what I’m talking about: https://tombrantleyrewinds.com/newpickups/dearmond-style-goldfoil-in-humbucker-size
  18. Lollar has a Charlie Christian in a humbucker sized package. I installed one in my Nocaster and love it. I’ve heard clips of them in arch tops and they sound very old school.
  19. Hey all- Happy New Year. I love the sound of the old Dearmond Rhythm Chief 1000 and 1100. I played a Guild Artist Award with that pickup a while back and was blown away with that sound. I was thinking about putting a Kent Armstrong single coil in my incoming Eagle Classic. I’ll give the already installed PAF style humbucker a chance, but I’d like to explore the single coil sound in this archtop. Everything else I’ve got has a humbucker. I do need something that stays pretty clean. Thoughts? Other ideas?
  20. Great looking guitar, I bet it sounds as great as it looks. Let us know what you think when you finally get that thing plugged in!
  21. That's going to buff out real fine! Dave is the best.
