  1. What you’re describing is the difference between: interpretation — making the music yours imitation — recreating someone else’s choices Tribute bands live in the second category. They’re about fidelity to a recording, not fidelity to the musical idea. That’s why they obsess over note‑for‑note solos, exact tones, exact phrasing, exact stage moves. It’s a reenactment. But in classical music, nobody treats the first performance of a Mozart symphony or a Beethoven concerto as the “correct” version. They treat the score as the real object — the blueprint — and every orchestra and conductor is expected to bring their own interpretation to it.
  2. If you think that Milly is fine, Gitfiddler has an Eagle that would surpass it, but he is a modest kind of guy.
  3. OK I could not commit or admit any one of my 6 are superior to the other 5. These guitars are cardiac and I do not wish to hurt their feelings, otherwise their necks could warp
  4. The early 150's had the same horn and Heritage was asked to change it. If your next post is about the headstock, it works better and Heritage was not sued over it. Most of us on the HOC appreciate function over form.
  5. I had that same issue on my 575 and that was on an aftermarket saddle and bridge. It was resolved with a second curly washer bottoming out on each of the studs. What is happening in that photo is "rocking torque" That is not a good thing. It needs to be corrected.
  6. Dunning Kruger Effect That explains it!
  7. I the words of the immortal Mae West.... Why avoid temptation there is always more. Long mae she be played
  8. Chris, did you say Staple? No way!
  9. If the Roy C is a single cutaway 535, how come a 535 bridge intersect the diamond in the middle of the F hole and the Roy at a different point?
  10. On the 576 the bridge aligns with the diamond shape in the middle of the f hole while on the Roy the tail piece aligns with the middle of the diamond. So is the body longer?
  11. Resistance would be futile
  12. Double good introduction.
  13. Agree, there are a tremendous number of factors when considering - desired tone, style of music, fingers and touch, wood and build, amps, ears, (hearing is MAJOR as frequency range decreases with age ((except for one of our members who has dog ear 20 -20,000 HZ range) Marketing and brain perception
  14. I like looking at your pretty guitars. The implied lesson here is don't buy some gorilla glue and do it yourself. But finding an excellent repair guy in Kalamazoo is considerably easier than many other cities. You are one lucky guy!
  15. I only have 1 H150 it's a goldtop built in 2006 purchased 2009 from Jupiter Florida for $1800 used. Guess the internet did not have a "what would this cost 9 years ago" function back in the day
  16. Rich, We went to different schools. My math is a little different. Every guitar made in the USA that a musician can't afford is a guitar not sold and not manufactured. In the 60's a teenager started out on a Kent and graduated to a Fender, Gibson or Guild. If a Fender, it was a Mustang the Gibson was single pickup Junior the guild a Starfire 3. What is the current price point for a Collins, Gibson, Taylor or Heritage made in the USA?
  17. Sir Brently, $1,200 in 2026 vs $1800 for a US built H150 in 2006, don't know what the currency conversion is but that is not a bolt on neck and these features are arguably something preferable. Without hands and ears on it it's hard to make a value judgment. Best not sell something short just because of where it was built.
  18. I strung up my 147 with half rounds. The worst of each type I say, but that is just my fingers and ears
  19. Hope you never washed it after the inaugural event. It might still smell of sawdust from Marv, Jim, JP and Ren.
  20. Even better your choice was made with hands and ears! To paraphrase the words of the great Groucho Marx "who do you believe the guitar or your own eyes"!
  21. Wow! If this was a clear winner over several CC 535s as well as Gibsons, I can only imagine it plays and sounds as good as it looks. And it looks fantastic!!!
