  1. that one was made down the street at 230 Parsons
  2. Those all look nice!
  3. I dunno, I have both Pickguards are nice once you get your picking hand familiar with it & it works as a guide, to orient your playing without needing to look at your hand. Likewise without: I get used to using the pickup rings instead, as a guide to rest a finger on. Actual funcionality as a pickguard: It would make more sense to me to be ABOVE the strings, as I tend to hit the body more above the low E string, while using a pick. Not having a pickguard & all that free air kind of feels like "going commando" and not wearing any underwear. Sort of liberating in a way I don't know if I have a preference. I do really like the old wooden pickguards Heritage used to use.
  4. nice H550's in this thread! A lot of players who use heavier strings tune down to make it easier to bend. SRV famously, probably inspired by Hendrix
  5. that was really good. As usual. That Sweet 16 just kills! beautiful guitar
  6. that's too bad, it was funny! edit: I think you guys should change your band name. It would be hilarious, especially with a female singer. I bet you'd get more gigs!
  7. Those are both very nice guitars!
  8. There are reasons why Lester William Polsfuss got into building a solid body guitar, instead of just playing the existing hollowbodies of the time.
  9. I originally thought this thread was going to be about earplugs
  10. He's a gene pool boy, for sure
  11. I was being serious. If you are offended that isn't my fault, it wasn't my intention either. You are reading far too much into that statement. I would have said exactly the same thing to any friend I was having that discussion with. Not only that, but I went to the effort of additional details that likely affect your perception of sound & volume. You are welcome.
  12. I bet Marv built tons of Heritage guitars along with the other owners. And other builders. good luck documenting any of them I recognize his handwriting on a lot of labels
  13. there was a 225 parsons st model too Did the eagle have a model #?
  14. Did they explain why they chose 717 as the model #? So far, numerical prefixes have been 1,3,5 No 7's until now? any others? why no 2,4,6's? I can maybe understand why no 2's or 4's. Avoids all the 2x4 jokes
  15. well what is sound & volume? air pressure more speakers = more air pressure I'm not sure who downvoted my post, lol, but I thought it was informative. I apologise if I offended somebodies sensitivities.
  16. wow that's a beauty! B serial & a stinger drool
  17. speaker sensitivity is important too. A 102 dB speaker is going to be louder than a 90 dB speaker, with a given amp
  18. why do 4x12 cabs sound louder than what? a 1x12? seriously? more speaker surface area also improves bass response. That's why bass cabs can use a bunch of 10" or 8" ( or even smaller ) speakers. smaller speaker cones are also faster, so a big 15" speaker may have more bass than a 10", but is slower & less responsive. usually. Throw a bunch of 10" speakers in & they're faster, and have the same low end as a 15" speaker cabinet design is a whole other can of worms: ported, not ported, direct radiator, passive radiator, horn loaded, diimensions & size, shape etc all factor in
  19. Oh, I thought yours was the first! I was referring to them rather than you...which is why I replied in your thread. I guess I could have worded it better apologies
  20. agree it's good to see Heritage making big archtops again. And especially a new model! The Cadillacs of the guitar world
  21. Looks nice! There's 3 different threads here about the same gtr. Don't you guys read before you post? Big news though: the 1st new model in a long time. Undertstandable.
  22. yeah that takes admiration of old tubes to a whole new level
  23. GC was the final designation of the 6L6 right? I wonder if design changes between them has anything to do with the sound. Did you measure the actual plate voltage of the Wooly amp?
