  1. Make sure you credit the original photographer who took that pic! He got rather pissed off when I didn't one time: I was unfamiliar with photography etiquette, and try to avoid doing that since then
  2. those are nice pickups!
  3. Marv is looking good! excellent story & pic, thanks for posting that I recall meeting Marv's grandson at PSP one year
  4. What an excellent segment: I watched the whole thing Hell of an introduction pretty funny great interview! Rich said something that has resonated with me for some time about guitars: "functional art" Much of a guitar's beauty is based on functional design. It's true: they are objects to be admired. But they go beyond drawings, paintings or most sculptures etc. A musical instrument is a creative tool to be used, to be inspired by, to play, and to generate new ideas. Or just rehash "hang on sloopy" to your hearts content. It's all good.
  5. yes, careful not to burn your fingers on that molten top!
  6. that one was made down the street at 230 Parsons
  7. Those all look nice!
  8. I dunno, I have both Pickguards are nice once you get your picking hand familiar with it & it works as a guide, to orient your playing without needing to look at your hand. Likewise without: I get used to using the pickup rings instead, as a guide to rest a finger on. Actual funcionality as a pickguard: It would make more sense to me to be ABOVE the strings, as I tend to hit the body more above the low E string, while using a pick. Not having a pickguard & all that free air kind of feels like "going commando" and not wearing any underwear. Sort of liberating in a way I don't know if I have a preference. I do really like the old wooden pickguards Heritage used to use.
  9. nice H550's in this thread! A lot of players who use heavier strings tune down to make it easier to bend. SRV famously, probably inspired by Hendrix
  10. that was really good. As usual. That Sweet 16 just kills! beautiful guitar
  11. that's too bad, it was funny! edit: I think you guys should change your band name. It would be hilarious, especially with a female singer. I bet you'd get more gigs!
  12. Those are both very nice guitars!
  13. There are reasons why Lester William Polsfuss got into building a solid body guitar, instead of just playing the existing hollowbodies of the time.
  14. Oh, I thought yours was the first! I was referring to them rather than you...which is why I replied in your thread. I guess I could have worded it better apologies
  15. agree it's good to see Heritage making big archtops again. And especially a new model! The Cadillacs of the guitar world
  16. Looks nice! There's 3 different threads here about the same gtr. Don't you guys read before you post? Big news though: the 1st new model in a long time. Undertstandable.
  17. Holy 357 mania!! is that 3 of them in there? what kind of bass is that guy using? looks unique, lipstick pickups too?
  18. David Gilmour still uses a POS Zoom thing from the 80s to record stuff.
  19. Haha was just listening to "nighthawks at the diner", great reference!
  20. Looks great!!
  21. Here's 5 reasons in a Haiku No No No No No
  22. Modelling amps suck at heating up cold pizza slices you didn't have time to eat before the gig so you put them in the back of the amp to warm them up until the break.
