  1. I like the stock Grovers well enough myself, never had any problems with them.
  2. Ps that would be funny if a previous owner actually got Les Paul to autograph the backplate in 1979. But I don't think that's possible without a customized DeLorean.
  3. Well Congrats ForestLemon!! That looks killer to me. Yes, people pay extra $$ to make new guitars look as storied as that Play it in good health
  4. Lol!! Changing the subject Almost cut my hair....it was gettin' kinda long. ForestLemon, I think you should buy that gtr
  5. To quote James Jamerson: the gunk gives it the funk! ?
  6. I like those Magnatones Neil Young uses
  7. Btw I'm just joking around.....being obnoxious trying to liven stuff up around here
  8. Yeah I'm bemoaning the lack of nice wooden pickguards too. Along with the MOP inlays, It was a real touch of class that elevated Heritage above the Plastic Oh No Brand...

Fun fact: one of the hitchhikers Kowalski throws out of his car is the tavern owner who gets blown away by Clint Eastwood in "Unforgiven".

Ha, yeah I remember seeing bits & pieces on late night movie channel when I was a kid. It always fascinated me: the scenery, the desert, the car, the enigma of the ending. Track down the uncut version it does fill some things in. And helps explain the end a bit more than the censored version. I guess there were religious concerns about a visitation by Death incarnate.

I watch that film a couple times a year. Existential B movie genius. And great shots. "The last American hero, the electric centaur, the demi-god, the super driver of the golden west.....the last beautiful free soul on this planet." Delaney & Bonnie were supposed to do the soundtrack, but ended up in the movie as a bunch of preachers instead. Kim Carnes first vocal recording is her singing over the end credits.

If you can find the European version, it has extra footage that was cut from the US version of the film.

Not sure if it really was a Green Frog grocer, or just a movie prop setup. But the building is still there, in Goldfield. Most of the other locations have fallen into ruin

Specifically the window pic was The Green Frog Grocery store at the Goldfield Hotel in Nevada, where parts of "Vanishing Point" were filmed. And Super Soul had his radio station "KOW"

Actually we have two winners: Mars_shall sent me a PM, and Rich also posted here in the thread. So I owe you each a beer, next time we meet up. Although the clues were getting pretty damned obvious! Another obscure one I was ready to post:
