rwinking
I bought the H-535 that punkkitty had on here last week and it came in today. I have not had time to play it plugged in, but it sounds flat out wonderful acoustically. It is a beautiful guitar and everything I had hoped for. Monica was so easy to work with. I really do appreciate her. I may not have a chance to plug it in until tomorrow which is a drag. I now have a nice 1990 140CM, an old (1986) 170 and now this 535. My life is now complete. What more could a man ask for on this planet?

davesultra
Sweet! Monica is a 5 star seller. Loved that 150 she was offering, too bad for me (but not my bank account) she pulled it off the market.

tulk1
Cool deal on the 535. And your other H's. Now, you need a Prospect. Younger cousin to the 535. Similar heritage (ha!), different parents.
Gitfiddler
You missed a H357. And you missed an H530 and Millennium and Millennium Pro... (It never ends!) Congratulations to both seller and buyer!
schundog
Congratulations, and welcome to the 535 family! And YES, Monica is a straight up seller; I've had two pleasant transactions with her. Great seller/person.

rwinking
Thanks everyone. I am really loving the 535. It is beautiful, plays like a dream and sounds so nice! I do have a question about the 535's though. I once had a Gibson dot neck reissue back in the late 80s. It seems that the 535 has a bigger body than the 335. I can't really tell though as my memory of the 335 is a bit hazy b/c of lifestyle choices during that era. I am not sure if it is my diseased perception or what. Perhaps it it because the headstock of the 535 is smaller and it makes the body look bigger? Or is there a difference?
Gitfiddler
H-535's are made on the same old jigs as the former 335's were. Same dimensions...but with solid rims and output jack on the lower bout (where it belongs in my view). Enjoy that beautiful 535!
TalismanRich
There are slight differences. According to spec, the ES335 is the larger instrument. The H535 is 18" long, 16" wide and 1 5/8 rim size. The ES335 is slightly bigger at 20" long, 16.5" wide and 1 3/4" thick although measurements of various 335 range form 1.6 to 1.77" for various years. Both are made with 3 ply wood for the top and bottom, but Heritage uses a solid maple rim. The ES335 has a 3 ply rim. Gibson uses maple/poplar/maple. I'm not sure but I think that Heritage uses maple/basswood/maple, if my memory is correct. Acoustically the 535 sounds much more open than current 335s to me. I played a few vintage 335s at various times and they were worlds better than the newer ones. Whatever Heritage is doing, they're doing it right! rwinking
I guess the smaller headstock gives the illusion that the body is bigger.
