RJLII
Hope to see it next week. It's kind of my desert island amp. That is if a desert island has 110vac . Tweed cover. Dual single ended Class A. Reverb and Trem. Takes any Octal base tubes single or in pairs. Mix and match baby. Man made in sweet home Chicago. More to follow....
RJLII
The brown truck just dropped it off. Unfortunately I had it shipped to works so I can't fire it up until tonight.
RJLII
First impressions are good. The 15" speaker has a huge voice. Thankfully the bass tone control is very effective. It arrived with a pair of 6L6GC tubes and a 5U4 Rectifier. I swapped them for a pair of 5881 and a 5Y3 Rectifier to get a little spongier feel and earlier breakup. Tonight I'll try some 6V6. Tube rolling is going to be fun with this one. Victoria Regal II

yoslate
Those are terrific amps! Great blues rig! And I don't know why more players don't play 15's. Bob Margolin has used one of those for years, with his '52-ish Tele, and the sound is huge!
Gitfiddler
Those are amazing, full featured amps. Congratulations!!
212Mavguy
What a fabulous score, a great companion for a Heritage guitar. Good luck on the tube rolling! I love 15's from JBL, their MI-15 and G135, and Altec 418 series.
bolero
that is a cool amp!! I think the old tweed Pro's were like that, with a 15" ? how does the dual single ended part work? can you run it into another cab & do true stereo? congrats!
brentrocks
Is SPROINGER a good thing? Lol. I kid...
RJLII
Is SPROINGER a good thing? Lol. I kid... Yup. It can get real squishy. This morning I was noodling around with a single 6F6G that I scavenged from a HiFi amp my Grandparents had. It's about three watts. Very nice sound with just a hint of breakup at pretty low volumes. RJLII
...How does the dual single ended part work? can you run it into another cab & do true stereo? Nope. It has only one speaker output. It's kind of like having two individual amps in one box with common preamp and tone controls. You can use either or both halves with any tube in any combination. For example I can use one 6V6 by itself for about 5 watts, or two for about 10. Or one 6V6 and one 6L6, or a 5881, or EL34, or a KT66. Any octal base tube individually or in combination will work. A pair of 6V6 really sounds nice. Kind of like a 5E3 sound, but with available reverb and trem.
