  1. Today
  2. Thanks! I must have missed that pic. Guess I should look closer next time!
  3. Kuz what original parts did you leave on the gtr?
  4. TAG knows tone!! Seriously, that's one of the Boogies that would be high on my list, too.
  5. Yesterday
  6. Arrived yesterday. Was very NOISY. Was thinking about sending it back but- Checked the tubes and one power tube was improperly seated, probably from bouncing around in the truck. Fixed. Whew! This amp feels very old school. Starting to find my way with it. Will create another thread over the weekend with more once I get to know it a bit further, but I can already tell it is going to get gigged.
  7. Were the nickel 510 tuners you picked up considered the “Mini” variety?
  8. Remove the bridge and stop tail and dip it in salt water overnight. I like the Faber stuff and they have a pretty good sale on holidays.
  9. I have a 2015 Millie DC. For the uninformed, this is a double cut H-155, no longer produced. I bought it new, fully aware of significant nitro finish checking on the top. Yes, Heritage had some issues that year with their nitro finishing. Anyhow, I dig the somewhat aged look and the nickel plated covers on the Seth Lover pups have tarnished nicely. Now I am looking to replace the shiny chrome bridge and stop tail with an aged nickel plated set. I know of Faber, Gotoh and others. Any recommendations, quality is paramount.
  10. Last week
  11. I don't know for sure, but I'm guessing it's Jescar Fret Wire 47104. That's typically considered their Medium Jumbo wire.
  12. Jescar Medium Jumbo is what they are using now.
  13. Does anyone know the typical fret wire that Heritage uses. I have measure it on the guitar but can only really measure the width. Be curious what brand and size they usually use.
  14. Earlier
  15. I have had three Fender Twins in my life and all three were different. They sounded like Fender Twins but all different. It makes me think of speakers like pickups. The speakers will amplify different characteristics of the amp just like the pickups will amplify different characteristics of the guitar. I put the same speakers in a different twin and it sounded different. I put the sme pickups in different guitars and they sound different. But there is a similarity just like a Gibson LP or an H 150. Just keep the Schallers out of the 150s please.
  16. I’ve noticed the same with PRS guitars too. I do have a 594 DC Core model, and for some reason it doesn’t seem to have sharp edges like other PRS guitars I’ve played in the past. I also don’t find the frets on my CC150 to be noticeably low. But when you play as poorly as I do, I wouldn’t be able to notice the difference anyway. 🤪
  17. I do feel compared to my Collings City Limits and my McInturff Carolina Custom that my 150 CC seemed to play slightly "stiffer" and harder to dig in. I never considered that the frets were lower. It just seemed like the neck was needing more relief, but it didn't. When I watched that video and then compared the 150CC frets to the other two, the frets are very slightly lower. NOW, let me say this should in no way be a deal breaker. I have three Gretsch guitars and the frets are lower than my Custom Core. Would I wish the frets were slightly higher frets on my 150CC, yes. But I have gotten used to the 150CC frets and the neck feels great, sounds great, is resonant, and LOW weight without any silly weight releaving.
  18. No chance, it's on!!! There's a guy on the Gearpage "TAG" a Dumble owner, who swears his Fillmore 50 is one of the best amps he's ever owned. And when I first plugged into my Fillmore 50, I was checking out a bunch of guitars at Guitar Center, and I thought it was the guitars that were great, until I plugged them into another amp, and they were nothing special, it was the Fillmore. So I bought it on the spot!!! I wrote this song the day that I brought my Fillmore home. Check out my Teye guitar plugged straight into the Fillmore it's a tone that I was chasing forever, and from here on out will use for every live show I play...
  19. Glad to hear it (especially from someone who knows their sh!t) as I’m taking a bit of a chance here, an educated one, but a chance nonetheless. One of a handful of tone nirvana moments I’ve experienced was with a Heritage Liberty head with a similar circuit and set up (6L6, etc). Been looking for that head ever since. So - I’m optimistic. I’ll never forget that session.
  20. I've owned so many amps I can't count them all, and I still own quite a few, and... I like my Mesa Fillmore 50 more than any amp that I've ever owned. My favorite amps are tweed amps and the middle gain position on the Fillmore shines for that. The low gain positions are also very useful, and the reverb is huge. You're gonna love your new amp!
