MuDBoNe
Hi, I was wondering if anything has become of starting a Heritage registry? I did a search on this site and found some talk about it a few years back, but nothing since. Does anyone think it would be a good idea? I was thinking of maybe trying it. I have access to put up a site, but I don't know if it would be of any interest.
kbp810
That sounds like a cool idea Of course this would mean a lot of extra work for Brent trying to catalog every Heritage that passes through his doors
tulk1
That sounds like a cool idea Of course this would mean a lot of extra work for Brent trying to catalog every Heritage that passes through his doors But in the long run wouldn't that take the pressure off registering the other 3%-5% of the guitars he hasn't owned? DetroitBlues
Hi, I was wondering if anything has become of starting a Heritage registry? I have access to put up a site, but I don't know if it would be of any interest. For Serial number traces and ownership (not to mention stolen/theft/fraud), I think its a great idea. I'd like to know how many owned my '85 140 or the '90
MuDBoNe
I Think it would be cool to see some guitars that were built around the same time or even the same day, based on serial numbers and models.
DetroitBlues
I'm sure it wouldn't be an issue just to start a simple thread and have it moved to a registery thread.
barrymclark
I think one of the coolest examples of this is over at the The Gretsch Pages. I remember the old discussions on this. I supported it then and support it now. It would be very cool.
DetroitBlues
So let's start a thread!

H555rocks
Ya lets make one. Tho one on the Heritage website doesn't let you look at the guitars put into it.
barrymclark
Um, we already got one, it's very nice.. http://www.heritageg...gistration.html That's not a registry. THIS is a registry. http://gretschpages.com/guitars/ It really is something else.
MartyGrass
I like the idea of a registry.
SouthpawGuy
Sounds good. G&L also have a registry with about 16000 entries .. http://www.guitarsby...G/autoreg2.php3 http://www.guitarsby...3?registry_id=
DetroitBlues
I think its a great idea. We're not regestering for warrenties with all the modifications we do, but we should have some place of keeping track of what's out there. Perhaps a whole new directory with sub catagories based upon model type or year?
dbetts41
OK... first entry. H-150 goldtop # X01901 ... purchased used from GC in Orlando, FL ... March 2011
Gitfiddler
I agree that a Heritage guitar registry is a great idea! Also, how about a Heritage AMP registry? I know there is no direct connection to Heritage Guitars, Inc. (except Zane Lastrow's involvment), but I think it would be a cool thing to track as many of those now discontinued boutique amps. SouthpawGuy
My 2c ... a picture or two of the guitar in question would also be good. Plus a note about it's condition, e.g. whether it's a "2nd" or "BGN", headstock repair, refin etc. EDIT: and of course whether it's a righty or a lefty . DetroitBlues
EDIT: and of course whether it's a righty or a lefty . With a picture, I'm sure we can tell if its backwards or not.
SouthpawGuy
With a picture, I'm sure we can tell if its backwards or not. Well now that you mention it some guys can't. Someone did buy a lefty 535 off Ebay. It was and he wasn't, so it didn't work out

mars_hall
The gallery here could serve a similar crude function if people were consistant in what they place in their captions. If the choices in description are not explicitly limited up front to a defined set of possible selections, they will vary all over the place and find less use in search. As people sell a guitar they are less likely to have an interest in its path away from them and will forego making any changes to update a registry or pass along the information. Look at the Member's Gallery and how many of the guitars are still there though not owned by the original uploaders of the pics. So in reality, registries are a series of non-continuous non-related snapshots of interest in time that waxes and wanes.
JeffB
I dont understand the function of a registry. Is it cataloging for the sake of cataloging or is it to provide a sketch of a guitars history for potential future buyers? Could the information be used incorrectly by dodgy internet sellers?
