  1. Last week
  2. I have had three Fender Twins in my life and all three were different. They sounded like Fender Twins but all different. It makes me think of speakers like pickups. The speakers will amplify different characteristics of the amp just like the pickups will amplify different characteristics of the guitar. I put the same speakers in a different twin and it sounded different. I put the sme pickups in different guitars and they sound different. But there is a similarity just like a Gibson LP or an H 150. Just keep the Schallers out of the 150s please.
  3. I’ve noticed the same with PRS guitars too. I do have a 594 DC Core model, and for some reason it doesn’t seem to have sharp edges like other PRS guitars I’ve played in the past. I also don’t find the frets on my CC150 to be noticeably low. But when you play as poorly as I do, I wouldn’t be able to notice the difference anyway. 🤪
  4. I do feel compared to my Collings City Limits and my McInturff Carolina Custom that my 150 CC seemed to play slightly "stiffer" and harder to dig in. I never considered that the frets were lower. It just seemed like the neck was needing more relief, but it didn't. When I watched that video and then compared the 150CC frets to the other two, the frets are very slightly lower. NOW, let me say this should in no way be a deal breaker. I have three Gretsch guitars and the frets are lower than my Custom Core. Would I wish the frets were slightly higher frets on my 150CC, yes. But I have gotten used to the 150CC frets and the neck feels great, sounds great, is resonant, and LOW weight without any silly weight releaving.
  5. No chance, it's on!!! There's a guy on the Gearpage "TAG" a Dumble owner, who swears his Fillmore 50 is one of the best amps he's ever owned. And when I first plugged into my Fillmore 50, I was checking out a bunch of guitars at Guitar Center, and I thought it was the guitars that were great, until I plugged them into another amp, and they were nothing special, it was the Fillmore. So I bought it on the spot!!! I wrote this song the day that I brought my Fillmore home. Check out my Teye guitar plugged straight into the Fillmore it's a tone that I was chasing forever, and from here on out will use for every live show I play...
  6. Glad to hear it (especially from someone who knows their sh!t) as I’m taking a bit of a chance here, an educated one, but a chance nonetheless. One of a handful of tone nirvana moments I’ve experienced was with a Heritage Liberty head with a similar circuit and set up (6L6, etc). Been looking for that head ever since. So - I’m optimistic. I’ll never forget that session.
  7. I've owned so many amps I can't count them all, and I still own quite a few, and... I like my Mesa Fillmore 50 more than any amp that I've ever owned. My favorite amps are tweed amps and the middle gain position on the Fillmore shines for that. The low gain positions are also very useful, and the reverb is huge. You're gonna love your new amp!
  8. SO what was wrong with the 170 that made you send it back?
  9. It's just a personal preference, like needing to have a fat neck, or a thin neck, flat radius vs 7.5" radius. I've never had an issue with any of my guitars having frets too low. 90% of the time, I can accommodate a guitar although I don't think I've play many guitars with big jumbo frets. I'm more bothered by the shoulders on the neck and sharpness of the edge. Most all PRS guitars felt bad to me. The edge of the fretboard tends to hit the inside of my thumb and was actually painful. I have played one PRS that was better, but most of the other were bad. The SE models were the worst. I liked Taylor's neck better than the Martins that I've played.
  10. Has anyone else considered the low fret as being a problem? I saw a cc locally that I thought I would purchase, but then I played it and I can’t to the same conclusion. Great price but couldn’t pull the trigger because apparently I’m used to higher frets. It drove me crazy.
  11. Can't get more accurate than that. There are new 2023 H-530 and H-575 models with handwritten serial numbers that start with AN on ebay right now, so it looks like hard stamped serial numbers on everything with the new numbering format starting this year.
  12. I was told directly from Mike Ortiz that the letter prefixes stopped in 2020 for the 150s and in 2023 for the 535s.
  13. I returned the 170. Bad description!!!
  14. It's a bit confusing since the "date your Heritage" section lists hand written numbers through 2023 and the hard-stamped number lists a 2021 serial number.
  15. Very sure the SD is gonna sound very different from Throbak... else its gonna feel different too...

  17. GAS is strong in you, sir! 🙂
  18. Mesa Fillmore 50 head and 1x12 cab. I was trying to offload an extra guitar, which i did (in trade) and got a set deal on a Fillmore 50 head and a cabinet. Head is only 26 pounds. Been looking for a lighter and smaller tube head to gig with. This one might be it. I love my MB 5:50+ Express head. I really like the fixed bias and the ease of trying out different tubes in it. So I thought I’d go for it as the price was right. The two amps are different animals, and it was a bit of a gamble, but I think this amp will suit me fine. Will report back. Here’s a video of Heritage artist extraordinary playing a Fillmore 25 (6v6 version). The Fillmore 50 is 6L6. https://youtu.be/PVmK3AC6HOI?si=tG0zhJJx2saameYR
  19. This seems pretty accurate. I have this beautiful 2011 H-150 Goldtop with P-90s. The handwritten serial starts with AB, which the chart confirms as being a 2011. You should see this thing. It was a killer find for me...😜
