H555rocks

Recommended Posts

i just got my new H-555 from wolfe guitars in tennessee.

sick tone, just sick.

the best i have ever heard.

fat, open, clear, deep, with gobs of authority and harmonics.

it's the real deal.

one downside - the setup.

the nut was sad. barely cut at all.

the action was so high from the nut that all lower notes and chords were quite sharp.

frets were not level either.

fret dress + setup + nut adjustment = $

it's a keeper so i truly don't mind putting some work into it.

but i can never understand how high-end guitars leave the factory not perfectly setup.

perhaps building is an art and set-up is a differnet art?

this is a 2011 so it had not been hanging on the wall for years.

john at wolfe guitars was very cool and cut me a check to help cover it.

those 357's are driving me nuts!! they look amazing...

I wonder if Marv would build a non-reverse one? if it was flipped, with the strap on the front horn like a strat, it would probably work for me. I can't stand playing a guitar that the guy beside me is holding :D

plus the toggle switch would be in the right place ;)

It used to be Kuz's guitar, then Tileman bought it and subsequently sold it to me some months ago.
